Descrição

2018 brings the 100th anniversary of the death (25 March 1918, at the age of 55) of Claude Debussy, one of history’s greatest composers and the most influential of all French composers. This 3CD set is a collection of ‘newly discovered’ works by Debussy: works which have never been recorded before (Chanson des brises, Diane aux bois); a work never before recorded in the state in which the composer left it (La Chute de la Maison Usher) -a work (later revised by Debussy) never before recorded in its original version (Chansons de Charles d’Orléans) -works never before recorded in this particular reduction or transcription made by Debussy (Khamma; Jeux; works by Schumann, Raff and Saint-Saëns) This set comprises recordings which were made especially for Warner Classics’ recently released 33-CD box Debussy: The Complete Works — the first-ever complete Debussy edition. These recordings have been made by first-class artists, such as pianists Philippe Cassard (who owns the original manuscript of Chanson des brises) and Jean-Pierre Armengaud, who has probed deep into the scores, the texts and the spirit of Debussy.
